Learn To Play The Guitar Like Me
"I originally used standard teaching guides but found that they were
at too quick a pace for children.
I then decided to draft my own book, which I used as a trial teaching aid. Where
the children found difficulties they advised me.
After the third draft the book was finalised and I have been using it since.
My students that have been learning from the book have gained Distinctions since
1997 at local music festivals.
I had thirty copies of the book printed to sell at East Midlands Sound and Lighting,
Grantham, and I have since needed a re-print" J.A. Hopkins

"A part-time guitar music teacher from Grantham has come up with a revolutionary
way to teach the guitar.
Jeana Hopkins felt many teaching guides moved too quickly for students, who
found themselves overwhelmed with information.
Her book "Learn to play the guitar like me" uses a series of cartoon
characters including Wesley the bear and Sally the koala which appeal to both
children and adults.
She said that children who have been taught using her book have a have achieved
excellent results, winning top prizes in music festivals." Lincolnshire

Grantham Journal
"A music teacher has published a light-hearted teaching guide for guitar
students featuring top tips from cartoon characters.
Publication is the fruit of two years` hard work by Mrs Hopkins. The songs and
cartoon characters are all her own work.
Favourable comments from John Anderson, a top-rated author of guitar teaching
aids, prompted her to put her work into print.
There was pressure to publish because teaching methods used in the book achieved
stunning results consistently in the two years since she wrote its first draft."
