Malcolm was born in Canterbury in 1944, Helen born Skipton, North Yorkshire in 1952.
Malcolm was educated at Bede Grammar School for Boys in Sunderland (1956-1960), University of Hull (1972-1975) and Urban Theology Unit, Sheffield (1976-1977). Helen educated Harrogate Grammar School (1963-1971), Nottingham University (1971-1974), Leeds University (1974-1975).
Helen married Stephen Hamer in 1976 and has two daughters, Beth born in 1978 and Cathy born 1980. Stephen died in 1998 and she met Malcolm at St.Marks Church in March 1999. We married in February 2000.
Our interests are in music (especially Jazz) but, both extremely catholic in taste, Wine to which we show a great devotion, DVD’s. Helen is a voracious reader of novels, biographies etc. ,becoming totally immersed in their worlds. Malcolm tends to browse, Theology, Art, Poetry and technical manuals. He paints and writes when the muse prevails!
