Merchant Navy Class pacific Canadian Pacific comes
of a nine coach set at Alresford, August 2001. A
diesel shunter will pull the set into the platform since
otherwise the train would foul the points at either end
of the loop.

Talyllyn No2 Dolgoch waits at Abergynolwyn on
one of the TRs Sunday music specials. The location
has a special tranquility on a summer's evening, with
music from the buffet the quiet hiss of the blower and
occasional thump from the air pump on the engine.
August 2000. |
The newest and most powerful engine in the
Talyllyn fleet is No7 Tom Rolt, rebuilt from an Irish
engine designed to haul peat. Steams on almost
anything! The first engine I cleaned as a TR volunteer,
Spring Bank Holiday 2001, Rhydyronen.

large GWR 2-6-2 tanks make a wonderful sound as they climb
the 4 miles of 1 in 80 grades to Devils Bridge. Pity about the
oil firing though. August 2000. |
