CONCERT PLANNING
-
We are often booked for concerts one or two years in advance and
regularly have offers to return to previous venues.
-
We tend to perform two or three major events per year, usually in the
South of England, but occasionally abroad.
-
We usually involve female soloists or instrumentalists. Occasionally we
recreate our version of “The Three Tenors”.
-
We have no set fee. As we are happy to support charitable events we
prefer to negotiate a proportional sum that will leave the hosting
organization with a healthy profit. As a minimum we need to be able to
cover our immediate outlay such as professional expenses, flowers for
soloists and piano tuning or hire. We reserve the right to sell copies
of our recordings at our concerts.
-
We recommend that our concerts include an interval. Takings on
refreshments provide a useful additional income for the host
organisation.
-
We prefer events to take place at weekends. Sundays are often more
convenient than Saturdays.
-
Smaller scale events, e.g. at dinners, weddings, festivals, etc. can
sometimes be undertaken. For example we have provided musical
accompaniment to a Magic Lantern Show and at the National Waterways
Festival.
VENUE REQUIREMENTS
-
An attractive venue with sympathetic acoustics.
-
A good quality piano, recently tuned. Sometimes an organ is useful too.
-
Green Room (changing) facilities. Car parking.
-
Publicity and box-office are largely the responsibility of the hosting
organisation.
-
Access to the venue for rehearsal on the day and preferably on a
previous weekend.
-
Some additional lighting of the performing area is useful.
