Commissioning a Portrait

Most of the portraits I do are done direct from life.

However, some people find they either cannot find the time, or do not live close enough to travel for 4 to 6 sittings... usually totalling at least 10 hours for an oil painting (less for a drawing). In these cases some sittings may be supplemented with photographic studies. I would take such photographs myself.

As indicated on this page I prefer doing individual portraits, rather than groups.

A quote is given once dimensions, media, etcetera are agreed upon.
