Streakers

A brief history

Streakers came into being in the early seventies when there was an absence of reliable hand controllers on the 1/32 scale slot car scene. With the help of a fellow enthusiast the first Streakers variable resistance controller was developed for our personal use. However, we soon found fellow racers keen to enjoy the reliability and quality of the Streakers throttle and we started a production run which has seen over three hundred controllers produced and continuing development which has brought us to the latest transistor based PowerGrip and the solid state PowerGrip 2000 controllers.

Along the way other parts and services have been added to the Streakers range, normally prompted by a reluctance to buy stuff which I can personally make better and often cheaper. It has always been my aim to produce quality products which I am happy to use personally when I am racing. However, this is not my fulltime occupation and although every effort is made to keep delivery times to a minimum sometimes the day job gets in the way. Your patience will be rewarded with a quality product to enhance your racing achievements!

PACEMAKER 2
The PaceMaker 2 is a redesign of the earliest Streakers controllers and comes complete with BSCRA spec plug, full power micro switch, full wiring and heatsink needing only the fitting of the customers own resistor. Ideally this should be an MRRC type but the handle is fully adjustable and should be able to take other makes of resistor.

Controller Options:

The Click!!
The PowerGrip 2000 can be fitted with the Click Relay. This relay is postioned in the controller cable as near to the plug as possible and operates as full power is reached at the bottom of the plunger travel. It effectively minimises the internal resistance in the controller circuit providing maximum power for flat out motoring!

Wired up!!
All Streakers controllers are supplied with 3 core cable between the handle and the track connection but to reduce the internal resistance of the unit to a minimum they can be supplied with 2.5mm² (14AWG+) cable. This provides minimum losses and maximum power over the whole performance range!

Choke Box CHOKE BOX
This device plugs in between the controller and the track socket and provides a variable reduction in the maximum power supplied to the car. This can be an advantage when track conditions, too hot an armature or the wrong gearing make full power an embarrassment! It also helps reduce repair bills for novice drivers by limiting the ultimate speed of the car and hence its terminal velocity when it hits the barrier. Three rocker switches provide nine combinations of power reduction. 		£28.00
 
Rear Wheels
Based on Streakers own CAD developed aluminium hubs with internal set screw fixing, they are available in a choice of sponge, but unless requested will be Supa Natural black sponge.
3/32" bore, 9/16", 5/8" & 3/4" wide, trued to suit gear sizes 36T (18.3mm), 34T (17.2mm), F1 (16mm) or diameter of your choice 		£3.90/pr

Fronts Assorted fronts
Pin fronts 1/16" bore with hard black plastic tyres on lightweight alloy hubs, brass bushed for free running.
