1968 Matra 630 This was produced for one of my overseas customers and is based on the 1968 Group 6 Prototype sports car. This was Matra's answer to the change from the large capacity sports prototypes like the GT40 and Ferrari P4 of 1967 to 3 litre F1 engined cars. A move which was less than successful as early races were won by the more reliable Group 4 GT40s (5 litre capacity) or the 2 litre Porsches. The only paint is the Matra blue, all the roundals, numbers, lettering and the green stripe are waterslide transfers. In general the colour density of these inkjet printed transfers is reasonable but it is not so solid when overlapping two transfers. So since doing this body I now always back the lighter colours with white before applying the second transfer. The Matra is pictured on a Parma Int32 production chassis which fits very well without affecting the handling. Makes a change from all the Audi's and Shadow's normally seen in the class! Body shell by Betta, paint from Parma Fascolor range and transfers by Streakers.
