Rocket Cars / Dragsters

In 2003, H.A.R.T. set up the Rocket Car League to help people get ready and test their
rocket dragsters for the T.V. Programme "Technogames"

H.A.R.T. did rather well on Technogames as we came 2nd in the 2001 event and then in 2002
we did one better and got Gold and set the current World Record for Rocket Cars

This record still stands at 1.0369 seconds to cover a 35 metre track

The Rocket Car League unfortunately finished at the end of 2003 as the Technogames programme was
not taken over along with Robot Wars by Channel 5 and the BBC decided not to make another series.

The first rocket car built by a H.A.R.T. member was the "Rocket Brick" (pictured above) and was built by Robert Felstead

This dragster is made out of Lego which is then glued together and has so far reached an average speed of 24 M.P.H. and travels over 120 feet on JUST a A8-3 engine
