You know you are going to lose when the opposition have an electronic wirelessly operated scoreboard ..... and giving away 53 extras doesn't usual help either!

Result:
Lost by 75 runs on probably the best pitch we have ever played on.

Bowling:
Not great. 35 of the 53 extras were wides plus a few no balls and quite a few freebies that raced away across a rock hard outfield that was cut shorter than some of the wickets we play on. Each of the bowlers had good overs in their spells but everyone seemed to struggle to find a consistent line, which the oppositions left hand/right hand opening partnership probably contributed towards although can't really be used as an excuse.

Fielding:
Not the best, although given the speed of the outfield there was usually not a lot that could be done if the ball went into a gap. Most of the missed chances were half chances really as a couple flew low and fast through the slips and a few other shots in the air were nowhere near fielders.

Batting:
There were actually some good batting performances as we got to a respectable total, although the opposition were never under any real pressure and shared the bowling round virtually every player in the team. To be fair to us though you still have to hit the ball and score the runs which several people did, with Joe ending up on 52 not out, Adam getting his highest score of the season of 27 (partly thanks to all Ken's running) and then Danny and James getting their highest scores for Trafalgar of 34 and 15 respectively.

Shot of the day:
There were lots of boundaries in the innings but no one in particular sticks out as the best although that might be because I'm writing this match report a week later and have already forgotten about the game because I didn't do anything of note.

Excuse of the day:
None really that I can remember. Andrew would surely have offered an entry here if his dropped catch hadn't been off of a no ball.

Sharrem Shenanigans:
Slagging off (in jest) his own teams bowlers when they were struggling to find a consistent line when switching bowling to left and right hand batsmen.
