PRESENTATION

2 Hours of Play and Intervals

2.1. Each team will be expected to be in a position to begin bowling their tenth over 35 minutes after the start of play. The umpires have the power to penalise the fielding team 6 runs per uncompleted over if, in their sole judgement, there have been unnecessary delays caused by the fielding team. Due allowance will be made for lost balls, etc. (see 3.4)

2.2 Interval between innings shall be 5 minutes.

2.3 No drinks intervals are permitted.

3 Match Regulations

3.1 Each team shall bat for 10 overs unless all out earlier.

3.2 If the team batting first is dismissed in less than 10 overs, the team batting second shall be entitled to bat for 10 overs.

3.3 If the team fielding second fails to bowl 10 overs by the scheduled time for the cessation of the second innings, the hours of play for the match shall, subject to conditions of ground, weather and light, be extended until the required number of overs has been bowled or a result has been achieved.

3.4 The umpires will choose one used ball from the selection available to be used for each match. Should a ball become `lost', the umpires will select a replacement.

3.5 When there is no interruption after play has commenced and when both sides have had the opportunity of batting for the same agreed number of overs, the team scoring the higher number of runs shall be the winner. If the scores are level, the game will be a tie.

3.6 Throughout each innings, a minimum of four fielders ( plus the bowler and wicket-keeper ) must be inside the "fielding circle" ( an area bounded by two semi-circles centred on each middle stump (each with a radius of 30 yards) and joined by a parallel line on each side of the pitch) at the instant of delivery.

3.7 No bowler may bowl more than two overs.

3.8 In the event of a bowler breaking down and being unable to complete an over, the remaining balls will be bowled by another bowler. Such part of an over will count as a full over only in so far as each bowler's limit is concerned.

3.9 The Captain of the batting side may not declare his innings closed at any time during the course of a match.

3.10 No-Balls & Wides

3.10.1 The penalty for a No ball will be 2 runs.

3.10.2 If the no ball is called for a foot fault (Law 24.5), a `free hit' will be awarded

3.10.3 If the delivery for the free hit is not a legitimate delivery (any kind of no ball or a wide ball), then the next delivery will become a free hit for which ever batsman is facing it. For any free hit, the striker can be dismissed only under the circumstances that apply for a no ball, i.e. run out, even if the delivery for the free hit is called wide ball.

Field changes are permitted for free hit deliveries.

3.10.4 In respect of `wides', the Umpires will have regard for the ability of the players taking part. Repeated wide deliveries, particularly on the leg side, will however be penalised with the award of one run.

3.11 Retirement of batsmen

A batsman must retire on reaching a score of 25 runs. He can return in the same game only after every other player has batted.

3.12 Rotation of batsmen

The batsman/men who are "not out" at the conclusion of an innings open the batting in the next match. In this next match, they are followed by those who did not bat in the previous match. Only when all of these have batted are the batsmen who were out or retired in the previous game eligible to bat.
