Licences
Any person wishing to give paid driving tuition must be registered and licensed by the DSA. There are currently 2 types of licence issued and in all cases the licence must be shown on the windscreen of the vehicle being used.
Details of the different licences are as follows:
Trainee licence: These are issued to Potential Driving Instructors who have passed both parts 1 and 2, and are currently undergoing training for part 3 of the instructor training course. This licence is issued for a maximum period of six month and is Pink in colour and contains the triangle symbol.
Approved Driving Instructor licence: These are Green in colour and contain an eight sided symbol, and are valid for up to four years. In order to obtain your ADI licence you must have passed all 3 parts of the instructor training course and also continue to achieve the required standard of instructing during the regular tests carried out by the DSA, these are known as "Check Tests".
The AA Driving School only uses Fully Qualified Instructors.
