Feature Story

24 April 2005
Warminster Highbury
Away
Won 3-2
Amesbury came into this game needing a point to secure the league title, but they didnt sit back and wait for Warminster to come to them . Amesbury took this game by the scruff of the neck and went full throttle at Warminster and were soon in front as HARRY slotted the ball under the keeper, Amesbury continued to push and as Warminster pushed out Amesbury sprung the offside trap and left NATHAN S one on one with the keeper Nathan was never going to back out of the challenge and as they both got to the ball nathan won it and walked it into the empty net.
Amesbury took a little breather before turning up the wick yet again and with a free kick just inside the Warminster half Sam played a beautiful ball over the defence and NATHAN S found himself alone and met the ball sweetly with his head to make it three nil. Warminster to thier credit did not give up and were awarded a jubiuos penalty just before half time to make it three one.

Amesbury continued to play good football but with nothing to lose Warminster pressed on which left gaps at the back and attack after attack Amesbury failed to make them pay further. With three minutes or less to play Warminster were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, they played a cheeky soft p[ass into the box where in the goal mouth scramble the ball was forced home for a final score line of three two.

CONGRATULATIONS to ALL the boys on a successful final campaign
