To keep you up to date:
I spent a pleasant few hours one our members in Aberdeenshire and spoke to another Aberdonian on the phone.

Whilst speaking to them I learnt about a meeting that BP Tayside were having to investigate a respite weekend. So I went along, and felt really welcome. There were 10-15 people there. They are approaching other BPs who might be interesed.

I was given a conducter tour of BP Tayside. It is a compact establishment in which they have been for about 10 years now. The relaxation room with the dark wall and interesting lighting was really laid back, not to mention the water bed.

Myself, I am starting volunteering for Phace-Scotland and have just done a weekend training programme. They are expanding their horizons from LGBT to that plus EE, Everybody Else.

They are planning a drop in time during Thursday afternoons and I hope to be involved with this.

PHACE Scotland is providing a calendar of workshops and events this autumn for gay and bisexual men who are HIV positive. Issues to be discussed will include: newly diagnosed men, relationships, disclosure and support. The group will meet on Thursdays from 4th. November until 9th. December, 2004 from 7-9pm in Glasgow. For more details (see poster) contact David Bingham on 0141 332 3837. Or email him at david@phacescotland.org.

In Glasgow we are getting a Survivors Group together and hope to have our first meeting today.

I have a distinct feeling that whatever we do in the cities, we must make efforts to contact and welcome those from outlying areas.

Ian.
