Biography The story of Mellow Gold began not so long ago. The story goes that Master McCaffery, the baker's son met with one Jim Hall, they began to write songs together - the most beautiful songs and there was much rejoicing. Soon in a night of drunkenness, the inevitable happened, they invited a person by the name of Chatt to come and sing their songs and there was much rejoicing. Then, as the story goes they were three. Jim invited a bass player, who also happened to be his younger brother, named Phil to come and create bass lines for the songs and there was much rejoicing.
