Phil, West Chicago, Illinois, America

May 14

Phil has never been one to hold back, and as for rules, what rules.

Yes, a smiley face of course, and their sweet potatoes, I get a feeling he's pushing the boundaries here. Hey hey, he got the bucket right a least.

Had to be a posh one didn't it, Sears of course.

0959  what I planted with size comparison (in real inches, not that faggy foreign stuff!) - L-R, T-B - Fingerling Potato, Mexican Yam, 2 ornamental potato vines.
0961  how I planted them.  In good soil from my composter!
0961  where I planted them - a Sears Hardware plastic bucket
0963  where I placed the bucket.  If I don't get it up high, the bloody coons will get them!***
I will water them occasionally, depending on the weather.  BTW - no drain holes in the bucket - is that bad?

As he's entered in to the spirit of the thing I think we'll follow his progress anyway.

Now that's what I call progress Phil.

July 14

Phil's bush is quite impressive I think you'll agree!

27th July:

Oh dear, poor old Phil has been attacked by

Chinese beetle, this might be one take-away he'll regret.
