The Society ranges in age from early 20s to over 60.

We all have a wide range of backgrounds but what unites us is our love of live theatre and the challenge of putting on two productions a year. Those challenges mean we have to work as a team and this results in a close knit “family” atmosphere.

We meet on Fridays at 7.30pm in the Theatre Workshop which is in the grounds of the Port Talbot Arts Centre, Theodore Road, Port Talbot. We also meet on Tuesdays when rehearsing for a production. The Society also has a very long standing unofficial association with Aberavon RFC’s Social Club and members can normally be found at the Manor Street Clubhouse after rehearsals on a Friday. Additionally, there is an annual Dinner & Dance, usually held in January. We also visit, from time to time, other local societies’ productions as well as the professional theatre.

We love to welcome new members and, as an amateur society, it isn’t a requirement to have had any previous acting experience. However, in addition to those who would like to “have a go” at acting, we are also delighted if you can do any of the following:

Even if you can’t do any of the above, but would still like to be part of the team putting on live theatre, do join us on a Friday. No notice is required; just turn up at the Theatre Workshop after 7.30pm. We usually finish at around 9.15 – 9.30pm.

Membership costs £10 a year for those over 25 yet it’s free for those under 25 and over retirement age. We regret that we don’t have a youth section and can’t take members under 18.
