Welcome to our poetry page!
Helena has been inspired, from time to time, to jot
down a few lines that can loosely be described as poetry. Here is
a small selection!

My Daughter
A recent poem inspired by our daughter, Kathryn.
Ode
to the Life of a Scientist
This one relates to Helena's years in the laboratory!
In My Corner
The Cat
Written as part of a school English project, Helena was criticised
for her incorrect use of grammar! Please bear in mind she was 12-years-old
at the time....

Lines
written in Kensington Gardens
This wonderful poem was not written by Helena but by a lady called
E.E. Beatrice Foster in about 1907. We found it in an old jotting
album obtained at a local antiques fair. It shares it's title with
the well-known poem by Matthew
Arnold (1822-1888), which the author was obviously inspired by.
If anyone recognises it please let
us know!

There's a wonderful collection of original poems at
Shirley's Poetry Corner ~~ Please take a look! ~~
