The blue text below is quoted from the Metro GTi SE 1991 brochure.  The Metro was, until 1991 a 1.4 16v SPi (single point injection) 95bhp. This special edition was multi point injection 103bhp.  It took over the existing GTi and became the standard model up until 1994.  It gained colour keyed bumpers in 1992.  But lost its red seat belts to the 1.1S :(  In 1992 there was a luxury option pack introduced: Part leather seats, electric front windows, opening rear quarter windows.  The paint colours changed over the years.  The original GTi was insurance group 5.  It got an extra 8bhp and shot up to group 11!
