September 2001
News from two record companies. HTD the company that Tony McPhee has used for some years now has changed hands and has metamorphosed into Talking Elephant Records. Out on the label now is a re-issue of Solid (as issued on HTD). Out soon is the CD version of Live at the Astoria. So for all Non UK fans you will now be able to hear the soundtrack of the live concert. Old Issues on HTD have been sold to Sanctuary Records so maybe the old catalog will stay available Blue Flame records will be releasing a CD 'Tribute to Fleetwood Mac'. Tony and the groundhogs will be contributing to this album. News as and when I hear more. |

News filtering down of the latest hogs release tells of slow movement. much of the original recordings are being re-recorded due to poor playing in some areas. There is yet no definite date for release. |

February 2001: News of the latest Groundhogs album is filtering through the airwaves. After wetting the appetite with the three demos on the last CD Groundhogs the HTD years. Despite a hectic touring schedule, Tony is now writing and ready to record new tracks for the forthcoming album. I've yet to hear any of the new sounds but with the new Band rehearsing and playing live. The sound is destined to be memorable. News as it comes in of further developments and release dates. |

January 2001: News from Hog H.Q. After Joining the Groundhogs last June The Brotherly Rhythm section has now Split up. Leaving Behind Mick Jones on Drums, Brian Jones on Bass left at the beginning of the month, leaving Tony in the lurch, and no Bass for a gig two days later in Anglesey. Stepping into the Bass position at the last moment Dave Anderson (originally with the Groundhogs 1986-1989) made time to fit in playing with the Hogs again. The reuniting of Mick and Dave creates a formidable combination. Although gigging for a couple of shows without rehearsals. By the time I caught up with them at Alexander's in the middle of January, the Band was on top form. The combination of Tony Dave and Mick is well worth catching. |
