using TuneFinder

If you know the name of a tune, you can find the dots here, often in many different versions. TuneFinder explores the web and collates all the 'abc' files it =finds. But you don't to know the abc notation to use it.

  1. Go to the TuneFinder site
  2. Type the name of the tune, and press Go. TuneFinder produces a list of tunes with that name that it has found on the web. Choose one version, perhaps at random, and click on 'gif'. Figure 1 shows where to type the tune name and where to click on 'gif'. Ignore the other stuff on the TuneFinder page!
  3. TuneFinder will show you a sheet music version. See figure 2. You can donload the gif file for the sheet music by clicking in the appropriate place, as shown.
