Why is the web?

See ... it's not just people who have profound thoughts. Actually, pound for pound, if you compare a Chihuahua's head to the rest of its body I've got more brains than you probably have.

The web needs a place where dogs like me can go. A place that deals with key issues of the moment - a place with incisive comment - somewhere where you can interact with like-minded Chihuahuas: a kind of virtual, on-line kennel.

I want to know about

	what we're going to do about de-forestation
	pack territorial marking - how do we shift the responsibility
	how to deal with the problem of Cats
	burying stuff - new ideas
	how to get proper olfactory communications onto the Internet.

Where are these pages? who's running this thing? Not us - that's for sure. Yes, littermates, the ugly truth is that there is Discrimination, even here on the most enlightened medium in the world. Am I any less a person just because my skin is covered in fur?

And why discriminate? .... WHY? We're not all the choco-wolfing, bone crunching, moon howling stereotypes the media portray. As it happens I'm a really fluffy, sensitive guy. OK, so I do a bit of chocolate sometimes - but I'm still basically a lap-dog.

Naturally any dog is going to instill a certain amount of fear in humans, and I guess I'm no exception, but the the modern Chihuahua has come a long way since the extinct Buffalo-hunting Chihuahuas of ancient Mexico.

Stories of Vampire Chihuahuas, by the way, are purely apocryphal.

A continuing failure to address the concerns of dog-kind on the web can only lead to further stress between our two communities. The word is, among the toy dog intelligentsia (i.e. not Yorkies!), that local groups are already planning a pre-revolutionary programme of canine disobedience.

If the Web does not move soon the world will see much more in the way of public canine bathing, crumpled trouser legs and badly rusted lamp posts.
