Gardenii Main Page Spring Summer Autumn Winter

Shrubs have always been, quite rightly, the backbone of most gardens. From the elegant tree in the corner or centerpoint, the ornamental shrubs giving their perfect form to the perennials and bedding around them, the shrubs grown to show off their berries and evergreen foliage, to the ground covering weed banishers, scent producing, insect attracting floral delights that can last nearly the full season, and can climb, ramble and spread their way to build a garden full of form almost by themselves with a little care and helping hand from us.

Evergreen Shrubs. Most evergreen shrubs do not like early morning sunshine if there has been an overnight frost, as this causes the leaves to thaw out too quickly giving them a brown burnt look, and can result in quite extensive damage to the plant. Most evergreen shrubs do not like early morning sunshine if there has been an overnight frost, as this causes the leaves to thaw out to quickly giving them a brown burnt look, and can result in quite extensive damage to the plant.
Seasonal Shrubs. The plants have been grouped into season by season sections but does not mean that they are grown for that season, more that they have particularly good traits at that time of year and may indeed be included in more or all sections. Tips or growing information may also be included in different seasons than the featured plants as these may have certain needs or care ( such as pruning or when to plant out ) at other times of the year.
