Internodal Cuttings :- These are cuttings taken from the stem between two pairs of leaf buds ( leaf nodes ), then cut immediatly above the top pair of buds leaving the leaves. If the leaves are of a large type, then one leaf stem can be removed or the leaves reduced by cutting them in half. Insert the cuttings round the edge of a 3½ inch ( 90mm ) plastic pot filled with potting compost, these tend to do much better than clay pots as they don't dry out as fast, Cover with polythene or place inside a propagator for about six to eight weeks. |
