Minutes of Meeting held at Altrincham Youth Centre

11th October 2004 at 10.30am

  1. G McKenzie has placed a link on Broomwood web site for NHS Dentists.

 

  1. Broomwood Partnership meeting 13 October 2004 at 2pm.  The Health Group has the following issues to raise

 

    1. Over 50s, Tai Chi and health walkers wish to return to Broomwood Youth Centre As soon as possible – how can they access building effectively.  Issues today about meeting and Broomwood Youth Centre being available. Also loss of Church Hall on Mainwood Road.

 

    1. Ongoing concern about Brooks Drive and Broomwood Woods no progress on motorbikes, litter etc. To find out a progress report at partnership Scott Brady.

 

  1. Firework season

A fireworks policy or poster is needed to be displayed locally with legal requirements of fireworks.

 

* Ruth to contact Police, Fire services for further information.  

 

  1. Health walks continue every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month through the winter                                   2/11/04 trip to Sale Water Park.

 

5.     Dog excrement/ Dog care

         Sue has collected information on dog care and “poop scoops”.  New dog bins in play ground. 

* Ruth and Sue to contact local groups i.e. G Force, Health Walkers, Toddlers and Over 50s, to access need for information on dog care and action on dog excrement following this to plan an “event” to address issues with dogs on Broomwood.

 

6.      Disability access 

    1. Sue has been unable to borrow a wheelchair and will continue to follow this up.  Does anyone know a wheelchair user and carer who would like to access wheelchair accessibility on Broomwood with Ruth and Sue.
    1. Grant to look for tool to assess compliance with disability discrimination act in order to highlight shops/building achieving accessibility. 

 

7.           Sue unable to obtain information regarding falls as information not available.

 

8.           No work on site noted yet with medical centre.

 

9.           Fire safety information has been shared.

 

10.                 Sue is collecting information for a directory of services for older people on Broomwood. 

              Keith to design it, Ruth and sue to look at printing.
