Minutes of Meeting held at Altrincham Youth Centre

on 2nd March 2005 at 9.30am

1        Dog care event planned?  1 April 2005 poop scoops from Poundland in Stretford.



2        Local Dentists, link on web site Jane asking for local information Ruth to send.



3        Disability access.

         Kirsten supplied group with Disability rights, commission literature.
         She informed group that it is duty of shops to make shops accessible within their ability.

         Group have noticed notes in shop windows offering to assist wheelchair users.

         Partnership to discuss issues further at next meeting.



4        Ring and Ride discussed.


5        Patient participation forum. 
          David Charlton discussed the role of the local people providing views on health services.

         The public can inform the health services about their views through parent’s forum. 

         Patients Forum. 
        
               The forum meets every 2nd Wednesday at 2pm at the Salvation Army in Sale.

         Issues the forum have been involved in include future of Altrincham Hospital, closure of St Anne’s
         and use of Gibson House and hospital attendances.

         The forum enables local people’s views to be taken into account and to be part of decision making.

         The forum’s issues are presented to the PCT for action plans to be developed in 20 days. 
         After debate the scrutiny committee and secretary of state can become involved. 
         Diane will be a rep on the forum.  Any more volunteers.
