Memorial to Reg. Temple

1934 - to - 2001

At 12 Noon; Commemoration of the life and actions of Reg was celebrated,  many of his close friends were present and they recollected all his effort, hard work, detailed planning and vision for the restoration and renewal of this vital recreational route which he enjoyed as a young man and together with so many dedicated local people and visitors to the area alike - cooperated in the late 1990's to enable and to undertake such a work of great benefit to the community as a whole.

The gathering at the memorial was joined by the Leader of Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, Local Councillors and Staff of the Borough who amply recounted some of the many things that Reg had accomplished and had requested the Council to attend to.

Later at the monument those who had worked very closely with Reg came forward to address our gathering to outline and remember Reg's tenacity, brilliant stubbornness in the face of very great odds

Josephine, Reg's widow lovingly placed a boquet of flowers by his memorial that was also thoughtfully and fittingly encircled with forget-me-nots.

A reception was held at the Community Hall on Mainwood Road.

Friends of Brooks Drive hope to add further photographs in due course.
