Broomwood Partnership – Housing Sub group
24th
May 2004 @ 2pm
MINUTES
Present:
Grant McKenzie, Joe Statham, Veta Gordon, Marie Toboni, Debbie Gorman.
v
Agreed that sub groups should follow remit &
structure of successful example of Sale West
v
Agreed that facilitator (Julie or Janette) was
necessary for sub groups, in order to establish a framework for working & to
act as a co-ordinator. Also to
prevent cross over between sub groups. Area
Services team also have knowledge of wider issues that would prevent duplication
of work.
v
Agreed that Housing & Environmental issues
should be covered by same sub group as they are interlinked & that Transport
should be a separate, though related issue & perhaps merits a separate sub
group.
v
Agreed there are many issues where central
co-ordination is necessary, such as access to Briarfield shops and schemes for
Trafford in Bloom. Veta felt that
Irwell Valley – shopkeepers - should
be involved with Altrincham in Bloom but they had not been approached. It was felt that this was another reason why a co-ordinator
from Area Services was required on the sub groups.
v
A channel of communication needs to be agreed for
the sub groups – how they feed into partnership & vice versa
v
Marie reported that Housing Minor works funding had
been agreed for landscaping at Millom Court sheltered scheme & consultation
was underway and also for parking provision at Hartford Gardens
v
Funding for parking schemes at Greenfield &
Barnfield had been secured from last year but the sub group would like
information on any funding available for schemes for this year from traffic
& transportation
v
Marie has requested information at the next
partnership meeting on the remit of the neighbourhood warden & is interested
in establishing closer links to address problems of grot spots – particularly
on Cartnmel Drive.
v
Agreed that charge for bulky refuse clearance was
increasing the problems of fly tipping and information was required as to
whether the pilot had been reviewed.
v
v
Debbie and Veta are keen to establish closer links
with the Association, in order to develop tenant involvement opportunities on
all parts of the estate.
v
Information on funding applications that are made
by the Association and the intention of use would be useful to Housing Officers
who are developing an action plan for the estate.
v
Marie advised that tenants in the flats had
reported that they did not receive Broomwood Voice and if access to the flats
was a problem, she should be contacted for a key.
Joe agreed to pass this information to Tina Huxley who usually delivers
the newsletters to the flats.
v
Joe agreed to arrange an invitation for Debbie to
an executive meeting in order that information could be exchanged and closer
links established.
v
Unsure whether transport (accessibility) was an
issue for this group but agreed that “low loader” buses were required on the
estate for access for prams, shopping trolleys, disabled etc.
v
Agreed that GMPTE should be invited to a future sub
group. Sale West have a transport
sub group that is attended by GMPTE and this should be considered for the
Broomwood.
v
Joe reported that 70 Redbrook was the only property
in the area not to have had the gas warm air heating upgraded to central heating
& Marie agreed to follow this up with Howard Burton.
v
Agreed that main issues had been highlighted but
clarification was required from Area Services on the remit for the sub-groups
and the issues of facilitation & co-ordination for the meetings.
v
Veta agreed to feed back this information to the
partnership at the next meeting but in the meantime Marie/Debbie would contact
Area Services regarding the issues raised.
