NOTES - A Notable Nonagenarian. An old gentleman named Samuel Morton, residing at Stapleford, near Tarvin, attained his ninetieth birthday on Wednesday, March 7th, 1888. Mr Morton is a small farmer, and not withstanding his great age he may frequently be seen busily engaged in farm work. He is a staunch Churchman, and every Sunday morning walks through storm and sunshine to the service at Tarvin Church, a distance of four miles. The old gentleman has a pleasing face, possesses a retentive memory, and retains in his old age the freshness of early youth. He is in the enjoyment of perfect health and can see to read without the aid of glasses. THE ABOVE TEXT WAS FROM A PRINTED CARD THAT HAS BEEN HANDED DOWN OVER THE YEARS THROUGH THE FAMILY.
