Holiday Home to Rent in France

Located in the beautiful, small, lakeside town of Huelgoat in the heart of Brittany within the Monts d’Arrée National Park, our holiday home is easily accessible from mainland UK.

The cross-channel ferry ports of St Malo (2 hours) and Roscoff (40 minutes) have all-year-round ferry services from Portsmouth and Plymouth. The airports of Dinard (2 hours) and Brest (45 minutes) are both served by low-cost airlines including Ryanair and have car hire facilities on site.

Huelgoat is located fairly centrally within the Brest peninsula providing easy access (within 1 hour) to three separate and distinctive coasts. The North coast is predominantly rocky with lovely sandy bays whereas the South and West coasts provide miles of flat sand with beautifully clear seas.

Huelgoat has many traditional restaurants and bars together with a wide range of shops, all situated in and around a picturesque market square. Local people are friendly and welcoming, and although a little French may be useful, it is not essential.

The house (non-smoking) is of granite construction with shuttered windows and several traditional features such as the interesting original bath. It is just a 2-minute walk to both the market square and lake, and comprises: basement with Games room; first floor with Kitchen, Dining room, Lounge, Bathroom, Toilet and Bedroom (twin); second floor with 4 Bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin, 1 bunk). There is oil-fired central heating. The large walled garden/orchard has a decked area and plenty of garden chairs/loungers are provided. There are many facilities for you to use at your own risk and with appropriate supervision and care. These include a splash pool available during the summer months, TV (with video and DVD), washing machine, table tennis, table football, snooker/pool table, dart board, selection of books, videos and games.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Local veterinary practices are familiar with the procedures regarding the “pet passport”.

The ‘unofficial’ Huelgoat website  has lots more information about the area. Our own Pictures page may take quite a while to load if you do not have Broadband.
