Poems
Autumn 2006
If
you want to know God,
Then turn your face towards your friend,
And don’t look away.
Rumi
Relax
the body completely.
Let the mind remain in its unformed state.
Become like a hollow bamboo
So that everything flows through.
The
song of Mahamudra
Out beyond the ideas of right
doing and wrong doing
There lies a field.
I’ll meet you there.
Rumi
Speech
is silver
Silence is golden.
Speech takes you outwards
Silence takes you inwards.
One
hundred years from now
It will not matter what my bank account was like,
The sort of house I lived in or the kind of car I drove,
But the world may be different because I was important in the life
of a child.
Success
is getting what you want. Happiness is liking what you get.
The
best thing any mortal hath
Is that which every mortal shares.
There
are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Albert
Einstein
If
you want to learn something, read about it.
If you want to understand something, write about it.
If you want to master something, teach it.
