Early in 2005, a doctor’s house was built and  occupied by Dr James Derrick for
6 months. It was then handed over to the Health Centre for the use of a Rwandan
doctor. We are delighted to report that Dr Katho Bitamara commenced  work early
in 2006 and is now spearheading the developments at Bigogwe. Estimates are
being prepared for a new phase of improvements to commence in December 2006.

The centre is situated alongside a tarmac road and electricity is nearby. This is an
ideal place to develop a district hospital and we need to be preparing for this. Thus
the work of the Bigogwe Trust will be needed for some time to come.
