FDG202 - Organising and managing the teaching of Numeracy and ICT
FDG 202 - Session 1
Learning Outcomes:
- find out about the module structure;
- learn about the module assessment;
- explore when and when not to use ICT in Maths lessons .... and why.
Module structure
- 1st session will be an introduction and overview
- Next 4 sessions will look at ICT in each of the areas of the Maths curriculum: Number, data handling, shape & space and problem solving.
Each of these sessions will involve looking at how ICT can be used, with examples to discuss and opportunities for students to talk about their own experiences.
Before or after most sessions there will be opportunity for individual tutorials - ideally these should be booked in advance (preferably by email).
- Following these sessions we will look at maths in other NC subjects (the outline of session content can be found by following the "scheme" link at the foot of each page - a more detailed scheme is available here). We will also view presentations by course members.... which brings us to ....
