The earliest audio recording from the period is taken from the final rehearsals staged at the Port Chester Capitol Theater. It is believed that this recording originated from a video of the tour rehearsals and it consists of the following songs:

Although no audio recording is thought to exist of the opening show of the Diamond Dogs Tour, a short piece of video does. This has been converted from silent 8mm film:

This show opens with the following announcement - "Good evening. Good evening ladies and gentlemen. The concert you're going to see tonight is not the show we had planned for you. Due to an unfortunate road accident, half of our stage scenery, costumes, lighting equipment is in a local swamp fifteen miles north of here. There was talk of cancelling tonight's performance but David Bowie would not hear of it and insisted we go on in the remaining half condition. So, in a few minutes we'll go on with the concert - thank you":
