Fervent Heart. (New 2001)
The painful picture of Our Saviour on the tree,
cast out, rejected, and dying for you and me.
With all sin taken in His own body, and torn,
there was no way he would last another dawn.
The cup of sorrow He took to make us free,
knowing the stain of sin, laying on you and me.
Taking a glance upon this important day,
has brought us into a place where we can pray.
For God did not give up, and did not give in,
and judgement over sin, He did win.
Saying it is finished, and breathing His last,
knowing sin after Him would remain in the past.
The veil was torn,
and there was a thundering sound.
That brought a shattering earthquake,
to the ground.
Graves were opened and the dead
began to be raised.
And Jesus' name in heaven,
Was being greatly praised.
He was placed in a tomb, by a man's request,
who once was visited by our divine guest.
Remembering the message of the third day,
and hoping there would be, no delay.
Heresy or not, the tomb was sealed,
given to roman soldiers who would not yield.
Protecting the outer tomb from any guest,
while our saviour was dead, lying in rest.
The third day came, and the roman's shook,
seeing the seal broken, not wanting to look.
They fled as an Angel turned the stone away,
and saw the spot was empty, where Jesus lay.
Mary Magdalene came before morning light,
and saw the rolled stone, that it was not tight.
She spoke to the disciples that they might,
come to see that Jesus was no-where in sight.
They saw a linen robe, all folded and neat,
sitting at the bottom, where Jesus had His feet.
Mary began weeping, but Jesus came aside
and asked her why, her tears did reside.
"Where have they taken Him she did say",
not knowing exactly where He lay.
"It's me Mary I have risen from the grave this day"
Mary Said "Rabboni !" You Show The Way.
And he who has seen has testified, and his
testimony is true; and he knows that he is
telling the truth, so that you may believe.
