Fervent Heart (Original 1995)
A heart beats, but has no everlasting life,
Until the Spirit of God comes in, like a knife.
Putting an end to soul destruction and suffering death,
The Lord Jesus Christ, breathed His last breath.
A passion for unity, through His Father's love,
Suffering in innocence, like sacrificing a dove.
"Why, Oh Father?", Jesus cried to God above,
The cry of a broken heart, separated from love.
"Where are you Father", a thundering sound,
Causing shattering earthquakes within the ground.
He felt like some lost property that could not be found,
A brokenness in His Spirit, of mighty compound.
The Roman guard shook, "Oh no, what have we done"!
Scripture was fulfilled, and the battle was won.
The World is now at the mercy of the Holy One,
With all of His enemies at His footstool.
So when the centurion and those with him,
who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake
and the things that had happened, they
feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the
Son Of God !" ( Matthew 27:54 NKJV )
