Individual Methods for Enclosure Design
Pool of Water

The methods outlined in this section relate to features of enclosure construction and layout which may be used to enhance the living conditions of animals, including the use of shelter areas, vegetation, viewing platforms and climbing structures.

Pool of Water

Method Pool of water.
Species All Animals.
Purpose Provide source of varied interest within the environment, for drinking, bathing, swimming, foraging for food thrown in, and for playing.
Pro Water dwelling/using animals provided with natural habitat.
Con Must be cleaned frequently if possible, to reduce the risk of contamination through defeccation or spoilage of food in the pool. Installation of a new pool to an existing enclosure is awkward.
