Cubbing Dens |
| Method |
Each female should be provided
with a choice of two or more secure locations to take cubs to, providing for the natural
behaviour of moving young to a new site every few days or weeks. |
| Species |
Red Panda, Bush Dog, Meerkat,
Cats, other mammalian Carnivores. |
| Purpose |
Provide opportunity to select a
suitable den to raise offspring in, and to move dens as would occur in the wild. |
| Pro |
With several dens to choose from,
it is likely the female will find one that is suitable and secure. Old dens can be cleaned
without disturbing animals once they move. |
| Con |
Several dens require more cleaning
than a single den. |
