Individual Methods for
Enclosure Design
Aerial Walkway
The methods outlined in this section relate to features of enclosure construction and layout which may be used to enhance the living conditions of animals, including the use of shelter areas, vegetation, viewing platforms and climbing structures.

| Method | Series of long planks of barked wood, 5-8 inches wide, 5-10 feet long, connecting several sleeping dens to each other and to trees within the enclosure. The planks are fixed, and do not move about. | |

| Purpose | Enable the animals to cross the enclosure without going onto the ground, and extends the three-dimensional area of the enclosure that may be used. | |
| Pro | Walkway is wide enough for infants to be carried across safely, or to travel on by themselves without falling. | |
| Con | The wide network of planks can be an obstruction when working inside the enclosure. | |
