In keeping with other Disney theme parks around the world, Disneyland Paris is divided into the usual five themed lands.

Main Street USA leads from the entrance plaza down to Sleeping Beauty’s castle and is lined with an assortment of shops and cafes. Two covered walkways also run parallel to Main Street and serve as useful thoroughfares during inclement weather.

4 other lands are accessible from the central square in front of the castle.

Frontierland.

Here you will find Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - a runaway mine train ride. In Disneyland Paris the main part of the ride is located on an island in the centre of a large lake. The trains reach the island through underground tunnels which feature as part of this high speed ride. The haunted mansion where 999 ghosts are dying to meet you and the new Chaparral Theatre are also found here. Grab a few minutes relaxation by sailing on board either the stern-wheeler Mark Twain or the side-wheeler Molly Brown along the Rivers of the Far West.

Adventureland

Caves, waterfalls, rope bridges and lookout points are all waiting to be explored. See if you can find Ben Gunn’s treasure chest buried deep inside the Keelhaul Caverns.

Don’t miss Adventureland’s most famous attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean. A spectacular ride through the forts and towns of swashbuckling cut-throats and adventurers.
Captain Hook's Pirate Ship (Adventureland)

Fantasyland

Guaranteed to delight every child with its fairytale themed rides. New attractions have opened here since our first visit in 1992. The delightful Casey Jr circus railway and the canal boat ride are found towards the rear of Fantasyland.

Swirling teacups, flying Dumbos, an Alice in Wonderland maze and a journey through the countries of Small World all make for hours of enjoyment.

Discoveryland.

The hottest new ride in history opened here recently. Disneyland Paris’ Space Mountain has to be experienced to be believed. Shot into outerspace towards the moon from a great cannon with synchronised sound effects every step of the way. Even non-riders can marvel at its effects either by walking through the cavernous viewing area where the intrepid space travellers career around your head bathed in ultraviolet light or watching the next train load being inserted into the barrel of the great "Columbiad" cannon itself.

Children of all ages will enjoy driving futuristic racing cars around Autopia. Get there in plenty of time however because this attraction closes at dusk.

Star Tours - a must for all Star Wars fans - and the first class "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" are situated towards the rear of Discoveryland. Graeme’s favourite restaurant is also found here. Buzz Lighyear’s Pizza Planet serves, pizzas, french fries and pasta and the youngsters have access to an indoor playground. When we were there in August ‘97 Buzz and Woody made personal appearances in the early evening.

If the park opens late during your stay make sure you return to Discoveryland in the evening to view the dazzling colours illuminating the buildings.
