I'm sure some of you must have been in the Scouts at sometime during your youth. If anyone achieved anything of note in your troop (such as getting their fireman's badge, or pioneering badge, or whatever) did the troop treat them to a resounding collective shout of "Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!"? Ours did, and a jolly fine thing it was too! In homage to which, The Official GobFM Website is now exceedingly proud to present its own "Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!" page. This is where we will broadcast the nobler and finer achievements of our beloved listeners / websters. Please read on and be inspired!

Here's a fantastic thing which Aarron sent me recently from "Flagstaff", a trade newspaper published by the group which owns Viridor Waste Management(I think), for whom Aarron works. It falls firmly in the category of blowing one's own trumpet - a policy which The Gobmeister heartily approves of, and practices at every available opportunity! Anyway, here's how the article begins:
"The crème de la crème of Viridor Waste Management's speed merchants gathered for this year's Waste Grand Prix at the "Raceway" indoor go-kart circuit in Avonmouth. Fifteen teams" ....blah, blah, blah....etc......
To cut a long story short: Aarron's team (shown in the photo on the left - that's Aarron second from the left) came 5th, but individually he won the "Star Driver Award" for what "Flagstaff" describes as his "Schumacher-esque performance"! Way-to-go-Aarron! Nice one!
"Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!"
Denise did herself well and truly proud by taking part in the "Flora Light Women's 5km Challenge" in Hyde Park on the 1st of September. In so doing she managed to raise over £100 for Oldchurch Radio.
"Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!"
You've gotta go a long way to beat what GobFM listener Rob Hardy managed to achieve last year. And I really do mean a long way! About 900 miles in fact. Yep, that's how far he WALKED! Land's End to John O'Groats. Why? Because he could, that's why. And we raise our glasses and take our hats off to that!
"Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!"
So, if anyone else would like their trumpet blown on The Official GobFM Website for recent achievements of note, then email The Gobmeister by clicking here and using your common sense. We wanna know about it, and you deserve the recognition!
