EarthT now exists as an archive of material, and former FoC-D members have now moved on to other things. The projects we produced are all available here or at Inside Earth - plus the FoC-D site is still available at time of writing. So, you can continue to enjoy what we have completed.. If you're interested in what I will next be involved in, it will be Supreme Commander-related: you can monitor the updated contact page. Thanks to all who commented or contributed to my and FoC-D projects :)

V0.43 and EScripts Update

V0.43 of ADP Siege is up at the FoC-D site. This includes EScripts V0.7, so the EScripts page here at EarthT has been updated to reflect the changes.

Release of.. quite a lot, actually
SuperStorm/EScripts

For me, more than a year has now gone into three FoC-D projects which have yet to have a public release. Today changes that with the release of ADPV0.4. This contains two projects described on this site - SSV3.1 including new gametype SuperStorm Siege; and EScripts V0.6. The SuperStorm page has been updated accordingly, and the EScripts page now links to ADP as well.

It's been a lot of work.. and there's still a way to go - probably there will be some stuff to fix in EScripts with the help of feedback and my FoC-D companions still have models for ADP in sights for a later release.

Still, it's a relief to have something out there after this time :) Enjoy the mod, and remember you can only play E2160 using this one with people who also have the mod installed before starting E2160.

Small update.
EScripts

My Earth stuff focus has been completely on developing things (EScripts mainly, but also ADP and some other projects) recently. Just a small update - the EScripts page has been updated with a picture of the new buttons and a small bit of extra text - one more feature.

The good news is that EScripts is nearing a testing release. In fact, one early version of it is available at the moment, as part of Jaimito's JFRM mod.

General

University did completely swallow up my time.. but that's done for the next little while. More information is available on two things: the EScripts project which now has its own section on the left, and ADP which is now linked into the forcesofchaos.com site under Horizon. I'll be endeavouring to use some of my new-found time to update some things here and at the FoC-D site.

Some more items have been added to the A-Z, including some more things which people have been scouring the site for info about. Teleport (Unit), Multipliers, SuperStorm and Construction Tabs are the new items up.

A-Z growing again

Two more letters and five more definitions have been added. I've decided to drop the unit and weapon descriptions - there's more than enough just in the way the game works to keep the guide going.

I hope everyone is enjoying the festive season. My main focus Earth-wise recently has been on the Siege gametype for ADP - a gametype where you capture Mines and Objectives with your infantry to secure resources and win the game. This is part of ADP, of course, because the original Aliens have no infantry and the ADP Aliens do.

Fire Rate added to DamSim

Two updates to the Damage Simulator - firstly, there's now a Fire Rate box so the times to kill are now shown - a bit more useful for comparisons than number of shots. Also, there's more profiles available.

Slight DamSim Redesign
Tactics > Earth 2160

No new profiles yet, but I've redesigned the DamSim a bit to make it a bit clearer generally. I'll also be adding an option for entering the weapon's Fire Rate to show number of seconds required to take down a target. Plus you can double this to simulate 2 weapons firing on the target unit, treble it to simulate three weapons etc. Thanks to OdiN for the feedback.

"However, if you want a more satisfying multiplayer experience, I strongly encourage you to install the official SuperStorm mod" (computergames.ro) - an Earth 2160 review my mod has turned up in. SSV3 is also past 1000 downloads at Gamespot - despite having description text that runs off the page - and is going fairly well at a few other sites around the Web that aren't Earth-based. Happy gaming with it :)

There will be a new version for patch 1.4 btw., to update the starting conditions for the rebalancing. In addition, two other gametypes are in development to complement another project.

I also installed some counter code recently and it seems I get a fair few more visitors than the old Earth-T used to. Nice to see you all. :)

Upcoming Feature - Damage Simulator

I thought I'd post a pic of an upcoming feature. It's an Earth 2160 damage simulator which simulates the process E2160 uses to get its damage ratings. On the one hand, I hope it will help show those learning the game how it all works, on the other it should be useful for some experiments..

You can either choose a profile from a selection of units, weapons and equipment or enter the values yourself. You can see the damage values shot-by-shot or click to shoot until the target unit is destroyed, disabled or confused; or you can run this test automatically 20 times to find the average, maximum and minimum number of shots that were required to neutralise the unit.

SuperStorm now part of rebalancing package..

Rebal beta 6 now has SS included in it, with the correct starting units and parameters loaded for the beta. One thing to note though - the multiplayer version should have the Observer Mode option disabled as I've no idea what a multiplayer Observer game would do, however it doesn't. Simply ignore the option and all will be fine though. Subsequent versions of the rebal beta will also have SS supporting them, so just install the rebal betas and you'll get a compatible SS as well. Head over to Inside Earth for the beta 6, and enjoy :)

First E2160 article up

The first E2160 article is now up in the Tactics > Earth 2160 section. This is quite heavy in graphics, as it shows UCS units with the different armours to assist telling them apart. Plus some random text from my head to fill the rest of the space :) LC and ED versions will follow.

SSV3.0 RB1 No More From Beta 5

Rebalancing beta 5 uses its own set of parameters and therefore RB1 no longer uses them. A solution is being worked on..

SSV3.0 RB1 Released

For those following the Rebalancing project going on at Inside Earth, there's now an RB1 version of SS available there which deploys the correct starting units and initial resources for the current rebalancing - so if you want to play with SS and the rebalancing, you can get this on the SSV3 download page at Inside Earth. Choose the download which says "with rebalancing".

SuperStorm V3 in testing

A week after the release of V2 for TMP and LS, V3.0 for Earth 2160 is in testing. V3 concentrates on the SS basics - more resource options, AI alliances, weather and live stats :) There's more info available from the new "SuperStorm V3" section.

SuperStorm V2 is coming soon..

The final version with multiplayer is coming soon. It will be released in English, German and now Russian - a new addition thanks to Arks who is doing the translations. No other significant changes from the beta - the AIs have been renamed to E2160 unit names as a tribute to the sequel and there's a few more of them to widen the range, but that's about it.

SuperStorm V2: Public Beta

SSV2 is done. In case there's anything in need of fixing I'm going to give it a public beta, probably for a few weeks. There's a huge amount added to SS, most of it behind the scenes propelling the AI players. Besides any small updates that have to be made, SSV2 is the finale for the script which started out as Winter Wonderland what feels like a very long time ago. There may be an Earth 2160 version, depending on whether there is anything left out of Skirmish there - just about all of the features people asked for which were missing in TMP are on the feature list for E2160 (team options being the most notable one). Perhaps Bounty Hunter will make another appearance, though it may make less sense when there's multiple types of resources. We'll see..

The SS pages have been updated to reflect the new features. The beta is available from the Download section.

SuperStorm in the works..

For the last month I've been mainly working on SS. I intend to work at it until it's done now. The original problem that delayed development has now been swept away and things are coming along nicely. Developments have moved off how the AI uses the units it has, as I'm now happy with that, and is now concentrated on how many and which units the AI deploys.

So, watch this space..
