The Course:

The course will take place over 3 evenings from 1800 to 2100 on Thursdays.

Pre course study:

The course is structured to require some pre-course study.

A basic knowledge of CAP 413 is essential.

It would be worth reading the safety sense leaflet 22, RT discipline, course notes and relevant AIC's.

I have put these on a CD, but up to date versions can be found on the CAA website.

Theory test:

After the first session it is usual to sit the theory paper before attending the next session.

Basic outline of practical test:

Allow just over one hour for the test. This will include:

  5. CAP410. www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP410__PartB.pdf.  Manual of Flight Information Services. A heavier read, but worth knowing that it is there, and what the general contents is.
  6. Course notes. These will give you an overview of CAP 413. (Word Document)
  7. RT memoir: . A helpful aid abbreviating most of the calls required in the test. (Excel document).
