A ghost story, "but with and interesting difference".

Is there such a thing as a "Living Ghost?"

Sometime you hear things that just make you think and wonder

The other lunchtime I went down to my local pub
"Queens Head by the Basingstoke Train Station"
It serves a range of real ales and is probably the only real pub left in
Basingstoke, the rest have been changed to be trendy something or others

Should be banned.
However I digress,

I ordered my pint and sat at the corner of the Bar.
In walked a man with heavy luggage, brushing the rain from his coat and
muttering something about an umbrella, which he did not seem to have.

He asked, "What was the best pint here", I mentioned my personal choice and
he ordered the same, and after sampling his pint appeared quite satisfied
He introduced himself to me, and started a conversation. The usual topics I
guess In this case the weather.
He sat at the Bar just up from me and asked what I did, as IT is boring I
mentioned my Pastime, I guess I just like to see the reaction on people's faces.

Now tell someone you are a Doctor and they will tell you their ills, tell
then you are a Plumber and no doubt they tell you some horror story of a flooded kitchen or such like.
Tell then you're a Ghost Hunter, and they tell a different tale.

You see nobody seems to believe in Ghosts, but everybody has a Ghost
Story to tell and this guy was no exception, but at least he was original.

I forget his name, but his story is still in my mind so I note it now while
it is still clear in my memory.

He told me that he believed he had live a passed life as another person, and
that he thinks he can prove it.

"Now the Holy Grail to a Ghost Hunter / Paranormal Investigator is proof of
Intelligence surviving mortal death, so to say he had grabbed my attention
was to say the least."

He explained that all his life of approximately 30 years he had felt he was
someone else and that he had died at an early age, He had dreamed on many occasions of this and even seen visions of himself and his home, playing in the

street outside riding a small bicycle.

The guy seemed quite genuine and very sincere, so I asked hike have you
talked to anyone about this either medically or spiritually?

He said not but he had investigated it, with amazing results.
In his Dreams and Visions he saw himself as a little boy playing in the
street, but he also new his name and address, like a rhyme that parents back

in the sixties told their kids in case they got lost.
I remember my parents doing this with me.

He explained that he was tormented with this dream and that a few weeks ago
he had gone to the address, in his rhyme; it existed and was exactly like he
had dreamt it.

I suggested that he must have been there or seen it somewhere and that it
was just dreams It was all just a series of coincidences.

He insisted not. "Oh no he said Oh no" you see he went on to explain he had
followed this up.

After checking with the people who lived near by he found that 44 years
earlier a 6-year-old boy had been run down in a traffic accident out side the house.

He checked the local newspaper achieves for that area and indeed found a news

item on the subject and how a 6-year-old boy had been  knocked off his bike in a tragic accident,

This guy had been busy, He moved his stool closer and was now much more
intent on telling me of his experience.

He fumbled into his pocked and showed me a Cutting of the newspaper article.

I had to accept that it appeared that this had occurred, but failed to see
how he could prove it was he, In a passed life, it still seemed to me, that there

must be a more likely explanation.

He said again "Oh No" he went on and described how he traced the family that
had lived there from the article and from his neighbours, that the family
had moved north London.

After a moment to take a drink he carried on and said he had gone there and
seen his family "His Family he insisted" he recognized his mother, much
older than he remembered but definitely her.

He could not tell them who he believed he was.
He said it was scared, but more afraid what they might think of him

It was like he was asking me for advice, on what he should do next.

I did not have any answers for him.

At that point he noticed the time and said he had to rush and catch his train. He
picked up his luggage and left.

I had not seen him before, I have not seen him since, and I can't even
remember is name,
Though his tale stays in my mind, and leaves me with many questions

You see, I have been on many Vigils, done many a séance, and seen a table
walk across the room
I seen a glass fly off a table, heard noises, which I cannot be explained.

But..........
I have never seen a Ghost,

Well maybe I have now seen a "Living Ghost"
