Introduction to Sea Kayaking
This is the perfect introduction to sea kayaking.
On this course you will experience using a real sea kayak around some of the most beautiful and wild coastlines around Anglesey.
Some previous experience kayaking on flat water essential.
Sea Kayaking Skills
A session where we can work on the skills such as boat handling, trip planning, launching, landing
or any other areas of sea kayaking that you feel you could most benefit from some structure coaching.
Sea Kayak Trips
If you’ve paddled on sheltered water and feel the lure of the sea, this is for you!
During the trip we can cover sea kayak handling, safety and rescue skills, or just go for a paddle!
All this and you’ll spend your time in some of the best coastal paddling locations in Britain.
Pre-course experience: you should be a capable paddler on flat water at about 2 star standard.
3 Star Sea Kayak Award Training
This training is spent developing your boat handling skills, understanding & knowledge to the standard of your needs.
By the end of the session you will know just where you are compared to the BCU 3* syllabus and you will take
away with you an action plan for your own paddling development.
1 – 3 Star Award Assessments
The BCU star awards are an excellent way to gage your person performance progression in paddlesport.
2* is also essential if you are thinking of progressing onto the BCU coaching scheme.
1* (Generic) - The 1star is a clear stepping stone to becoming a paddler.
2* (Canoe & Kayak) -This is an improvement award that helps you to develop fundamental paddlesport
skills on flat water. The emphasis is on gaining a breadth of experience, creating the desired movement of
the boat and developing an understanding into how the paddle, boat and water interact.
3* (Sea Kayak) - Successful performance at his level indicates that you can demonstrate the level of skill,
understanding and knowledge (whilst journeying in a moderate tidal environment as part of a led group with
winds no more than Force 4) of that of an able improving sea paddler and beyond that of the beginner.
