A tribute to Jazz Music's finest hour, the 1950s. In these pages you will find short biographies of some of the greatest names in Jazz Music during the later bebop and hard-bop years as well as a list of recommended recordings sorted by artist. This is obviously a personal selection and down to personal taste. We have tried to limit ourselves to small instrumental bands of the mentioned period. You will not find vocalists or big bands. We do not accept any responsibility for choices and recommendations made in these pages, nor can we answer question about the inclusion or exclusion of certain artists. However, constructive contributions or suggestions are welcome. Please stay in touch and come back visiting this page as we will be putting on more artists shortly.
