Ladies Darts

Freindly group that's right on target!

31st March 1983 - FRIENDLY GROUP THAT'S RIGHT ON TARGET!

When it comes to the game of darts the ladies of Two Gates Working Men's Club are really on target.

Their Wednesday night team is the oldest section of the club.

It was formed some 40 years ago and attracts almost 30 players each week.

Members of the team don't belong to any league, but prefer to play friendly matches among themselves.

At the end of the year a cup is awarded to the player with the highest number of wins. It's currently held by team captain Audrey Ball.

Secretary Pat Grylls said: "We play for about an hour-and-half every Wednesday. The matches are played in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

"We like to think the game appeals to ladies of all ages. Our youngest member is only 18 and we've got some who are well into their seventies.

"We also do all the catering for any functions at the club throughout the year".
