St Mary Kennington         St Mary the Virgin, Great Chart        St Mary the Virgin, Little Chart

This year I was riding again for St Mary's, Kennington. After last year's effort visiting 55 churches with Joel, I had considered trying for a record in the 8 hour day (believed to stand at 73 churches). However, this year my knees are not up to doing any marathon efforts and I thought I would be unable to participate at all. As the churches would be open though I considered taken some of my experienced bell-ringing learners to some churches to ring the bells. Since the intended churches are close by I then realised that if we just did 2-4 churches I could probably cycle between them. So a shorter schedule was planned.

I have just got back from my ride.  We could not ring at Kennington as there was another group of ringers visiting. So after letting the ringers in there we visited the following churches.

Great Chart 10:30-11:30 - Ringing with me: Patsy, Dorothy, Hendy, Paula, Judy, Adrian

Hothfield    12:00-13:00 - Ringing with me: Margaret, Dorothy, Hendy, Paula, Judy

Little Chart 14:00-15:00 - Ringing with me: Janet, Dorothy, Hendy, Paula, Judy

Pluckley     15:30-16:30 - Ringing with me: Lee, Dorothy, Hendy, Paula, Judy, Emma, Ann & Bill

Weather was a bit windy but after initial cloud, turned into a fine and pleasant day. The start at Little Chart was slightly delayed as some of our ringers ordered lunch at the local pub at 1:20 - but it did not appear until 2:00 when we should have been ringing. A pleasant day with  refreshments offered at all the churches we visited
