Rollerblading

Admittedly, I haven't had my skates on for a while, come on we've had
four months of freezing, wet conditions and had 10 inches of snow at
Christmas. I'll have them back on in the summer and will have to re-learn
everything I know.

The main reason I wanted to put this page back up,is that it was one of the
best pages from my old site, and it has some great pics. I wish I was the
skater above (because of the setting that is), there's some really good ones
below too.

I didn't actually say much about blading on my last page, apart from do it,
which I supposed is pretty sound advice. It's good excersize, it's good for
your coordination, you can make friends with the nice guys in the park who
want to show you their latest moves. You can get everyone admiring you
as you zoom along the street, then get brought back down to Earth with a
thud (literally) as you hit a bump in the road. It's good for the soul.

Walking is so 1999, but scooters? I'm
sorry...I don't think so...those things are
just...disgusting! Scooting around...I
wanted a scooter when I was 5. Then I
grew a brain. Just because they've made
them in shiny metal now...HELLO
PEOPLE a scooter is a scooter and so
what if you can fold it up, does that
mean it fits in your bag? No...I don't
think so. So what's the use?

Skateboards are slightly more
acceptable, but the true exhibitionist
should know that learning to look
good on a skateboard is a lot harder
than learning enough to look good on
rollerblades. No matter what you do,
you will not be able to look good on a
scooter, don't attempt it, and
especially do not think you look good
when you're on a scooter. You don't.

I had a look for a link to the site that
had all the specifications of my skates.
The Vert-x Inliners pictured on the
right. But they are 3 years old and
inliners have updated. I feel old and
outdated. But it just shows you, 3
years and still going strong. They were
well worth the cash.

Just to fall in line (no pun intended)
with the rest of my outdated
rollerblading days, this photo is of me
in France in 1998. I'm sorry I don't
have a more recent photo of me on my
skates.

I got my hair cut.

The photo was taken in a skatepark in
the south of France. They have such
good sporting facilities over there. For
tennis, swimming and other sports as
well as skating. They had a half-pipe
and other ramps, which was a nice
treat.
