World Youth Day Mass |
Toronto wasn't all work and no play by any means, we had some excellent days out on our days off, every weekend there was another festival or event. Soon after we arrived the Pride parade was marching through the streets of Toronto, followed 2 weeks later by the Pope coming to town. There was a strange mix of people in the area around that time. I've never seen so many Christians in the one place at the same time. We went along to some of the 3 hour mass, which was pretty incredible, but don't worry, I've not been converted. |

Mountainboarding at Area 2 |
Of all the hours spent at work, the most productive was probably the one spent dancing on a bar, I'd just like to point out that it was a one off before anyone makes any comments. But for 5-10 minutes humiliation we won $75 worth of ticket (x2) to go to the Area 2 concert on August 5th. We saw Ash and the incredible David Bowie as well as the mountainboarding demo and we danced to Carl Cox. |
Toronto's best summer fixture is most definately the Blue Jays baseball stadium - The Skydome. The Jays played the New York Yankees (and lost) but it was an awesome game. Fireworks go off when the Jays get a home run, the 3 hour game is just enough time to work out the rules and the ice creams and popcorn are not to be missed. We also did the CN tower at night to see the lights (that's why none of the photos turned out) and some of Toronto's museums and other touristy things. It's an incredible city, there's so much to do and the temperature rarely fell below 30. |
