Mass of Renewal
Introduction
The Mass of Renewal is a new congregational mass setting for organ/piano and voices and was inspired by the 'At your word Lord' programme of renewal, run by the Diocese of Westminster.
This easy-to-learn mass setting is suitable for a small choir or simply as cantor / response. There are additional vocal and instrumental parts for the Gloria and Holy, Holy for the more experienced. Memorial acclamations contain no new material as they are based on other parts of the mass. The vocal range and style is suitable for most congregations with either organ or guitar accompaniment.
Contents:
- Lord Have Mercy
- Gloria
- Alleluia
- Holy, Holy
- Memorial Acclamations
- Lamb of God
- Optional vocal and instrumental descants
Mass of St. Benedict
Introduction
After the success of Mass of Renewal, this mass aims to bring together traditional and modern styles. Most of the mass, being in Latin, is based losely on plainchant melodies taken from the Liber Usualis. The sanctus, for example is taken from Mass II - In Festis Solemnibus. Many of the responses are melismatic in character, and make use of changing between compound and simple time, although this is not transcribed as such.
The mass booklet includes a CD for learning purposes.
